East African Autism Day Treatment

Modeled after our intensive, integrated-approach autism day treatment program based at the Minnetonka campus, this program is in response to a recent University of Minnesota study on the characteristics of Somali children with ASD.

Located in Downtown Minneapolis, the therapeutic preschool program provides your family with:

  • 4 hours of treatment daily.
  • Monday-Friday schedule.
  • Weekly home visits.

St. David’s Center’s Autism Day Treatment uses a mental health approach with your child and leverages a linguistically and culturally knowledgeable interdisciplinary treatment team of child therapists.

The staff—half of whom are East African—include licensed mental health practitioners, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and paraprofessionals.

In a small-group setting and with a school-like schedule filled with play and activities, the therapists work with your child to provide services that focus on developing social interaction, communication, sensory processing, self-regulation, and family support.
