Therapeutic Recreation


Adventure is a community-based therapeutic recreation program for teens and young adults ages 10 and older with special needs.

Through after-school and summer programming at sites throughout the metro, participants engage in a variety of “adventures” that allow them to experience new activities in their community in a safe and therapeutic setting.


After School

Programming runs from the time school gets out until 6:00 p.m. each day. After School Adventure is located in Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis, Richfield, Wayzata, and St. Louis Park.

Activities include:

  • Cooking
  • Games
  • Bowling
  • Arts and crafts
  • Sports
  • Community outings

Release Days & Saturdays

Full-day programming is available during school release days (i.e. MEA, winter break, spring break) and occasional Saturdays. 


Summer programming runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

Summer Adventure is located in Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis, and St. Louis Park.


The Adventure Program can be paid for through DD & CADI Waivers, CSG/FSG, and/or private pay.
