The community continues to rally around the Campaign for Child & Family Wellbeing, and we are thrilled to announce that we are now one-third of the way towards achieving our fundraising goal of $4.5 million! The Cove Foundation and Jones family recently committed $210,000 towards the construction of two occupational therapy gyms that will total nearly 850-square-feet of the new downtown Center.

This past quarter, staff teams began touring the new facilities and building capacity to begin operation in just a few short months. In March 2018, the Harman Center for Child & Family Wellbeing will open its doors as the first trauma-informed early intervention center dedicated to children and families who have faced trauma.

Science has shown that traumatic experiences are built into our bodies and stay with us for the remainder of our lives – leading to long-term impairments in both physical and mental health. The Jones family and Cove Foundation’s generous gift will increase access to pediatric therapies that can heal the physiological effects of trauma and reset the development trajectories of children who have experienced abuse, maltreatment, and neglect.

Together, we can help generations of children and families heal from the effects of trauma.
