Minnetonka Campus Grounds
Keep up-to-date on the changes happening at our Minnetonka campus during renovation.
St. David's Center features a brand new, state-of-the-art playground. This inclusive playground is specially designed for both typically developing children and children with special needs. Natural features including a dry creek bed, willow house and mud kitchen enhance nature-based play. The playground will open to the public in mid-November.
St. David's Center opened the first toddler playground in Minnesota to combine inclusive and natural play elements in September 2010. Designed with every toddler in mind, the pint-sized playground is located on the east side of our building.
A unique feature at St. David's Center is our School Forest: two-and-a-half acres of protected wetland marsh which we use as an outdoor classroom and training center for environmental education. Our School Forest Program was certified by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in 1999. There are only five other certified School Forest Programs in Hennepin County. See more about a renovated school forest. During renovation, the School Forest is closed to the public.
