Position: Early Childhood Environmental Education Intern

The Early Childhood Environmental Education Intern will develop, implement, and maintain curriculum, facilitate teacher trainings, and lead classroom/forest activities with students pre-kindergarten to 2nd grade. Additional Duties Include: Developing adaptations for children with special needs. Identifing plants and animals. Participating in citizen research projects and information gathering on topics pertinent to the program. Developing curriculum that can be utilized by the therapeutic programs in treatment plans. Conducting activities with classrooms and activity groups in the wetlands.

Qualifications:

  • Classroom or practical knowledge in curriculum development and implementation
  • High School Diploma or GED, and pursuing a degree in Natural Resources, Forestry, Environmental Education
  • Knowledge of PC based programs, using digital cameras, and basic use of hand and power tools
  • Strong customer service and listening skills
