About Us

St. David's Center for Child & Family Development

St. David's Center is an exceptional preschool, children's mental health clinic and pediatric therapy clinic—all under one roof. We also provide day treatment programs for children with autism and mental health diagnoses on our Minnetonka campus. In addition, we offer a variety of programs throughout the Twin Cities metro area in community settings and in family homes. These include school-linked mental health therapy in the Hopkins and Osseo School Districts, an autism day treatment program for Somali children in NE Minneapolis, early childhood home visiting, in-home mental health, personal care and autism services, therapeutic recreation programs for teens and young adults and supportive living services, among others. At St. David's Center, relationships are more than a benefit—they are the foundation for our work.

Our Staff

Our staff of more than 1,000 dedicated professionals is committed to developing and nurturing meaningful relationships with each child and family as well as within each family.

Our History

St. David's Center was founded more than 50 years ago. Although no longer affiliated with the church, we retain the St. David's name to honor our community heritage. Formerly known as St. David's Child Development & Family Services, we changed our name to St. David's Center for Child & Family Development in 2009 to better reflect our position as a center for leadership in child and family development. We continue in our mission to build relationships that nurture every child and family.

Our Demographics

St. David’s Center now serves more than 2,500 children, young adults and families annually, with a particular focus on at-risk populations. Last year, 67% of reporting families served agency-wide were living in poverty and nearly 40% were from a racial/ethnic minority. On average, one-third of the clients we serve every year live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul urban area. Another one-third of clients live in suburbs neighboring the Twin Cities, and the remaining one-third live more than 30 miles from the Minneapolis-St. Paul urban center.
